Q: How do I enable Cookies on my iPhone?
A: myF2P is very dependent on Cookies for security and speed of operation. By default, Cookies are enabled on your iPhone. If you have disabled them, simply hit the Menu button, tap the Settings Button and select Safari and minimally set accept cookies From Visited. You will need to re-boot the iPhone to change this within Safari. Hold the Menu and Power buttons down for 20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. After the iPhone stabilizes, go to your F2P site to resume normal operation.
Q: Once I make files available to my iPhone, can I view the files through
the iPhone?
A: Yes, that's the power of Files2Phones, your data, on demand, in the palm
of your hand.
Q: What new features are planned for the December 2007 release?
A: Revision 2.2. will incrementally release during December providing real-time cursor-tracking in the iPhone viewport. We will also attempt to feed keystrokes in real-time into the target text window avoiding the intermediate field. We will also allow some application specific options that you can set in the right-click menu of the private directory. These will allow you to control the behaviour of block-marking and more... Remember, with your Files2Phones subscriptions you are NEVER charged for software support or upgrades.
Q: How do I make my desktop files available for viewing on my iPhone?
A: After Registration, use the convenient file tree structure under Your
Computer in the F2P desktop client software to select the particular files,
or entire directories, that you want to make visible on your iPhone, then
drag and drop them on the Folders in the F2P Folders area. The Access
History is displayed in the Activity log and identifies who, when and how
your data was accessed.
Q: How do I apply security controls over access to my files?
A: Files2Phones includes mutliple security options to protect your files and
directories. Access to the Public area is typically open to anyone who has
your personal myF2P page address. The Private area is your personal area,
containg those files you wish to protect from general access by means of a
password. The Guest area contains those files you wish to make available for
access in a more controlled manner. As such, access to the Guest area is
managed by guest username and password, even optionally by time frame, for
total granularity of control. - for example, a file only available between
2pm and 4pm (times selected here reflect the time zone of the desktop
computer) even with the correct username and password.
Q: What are mime-converters?
A: Mime types are classes of encoding for files like .jpg (picture) or .swf (flash movie). The iPhone supports many different Mime types but does not support many movie or Flash formats. Files2Phones has made provision for 3rd-party conversion programs to allow you to convert these on you home PC dynamically while viewing web pages if you want to see them. We hope that as Files2Phones evolve that developers will make these available..
Q: What is the Desktop Snapshot option in the F2P File Directory?
A: This feature displays the content currently visible on the PC screen
directly to your iPhone. For example, call a colleague and ask them to
launch any application on your desktop. When you click the Desktop Snapshot
on your iPhone, you immediately see that image. If you have multiple
monitors, you can see them all.
Q: What is the Web Cam option in the F2P File Directory?
A: This feature lets you display a dynamic view
of the Web Cam right on your iPhone by clicking the Web Cam icon itself. You can take a still shot and optionally email it to anyone by clicking the Web Cam name. Use it for
security when you are traveling or check in for the view anytime.
Q: What is the Photo option in the F2P File Directory?
A: Capture any photo with your iPhone, email it to your photo mail address
at your personal myf2p.com web page which publishes the image for immediate
global access over the Internet.
