Product tested - Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0, May 1, 2007

If you have a Kaspersky product, and hotComm is online but the relays stay red or you can't connect to a room, then please follow the steps for Kaspersky Internet Security below.

Note: by itself, Kaspersky Anti-Virus does not prevent hotComm from connecting. However, it can be difficult to tell whether you have Kaspersky Internet Security (which includes Kaspersky Anti-Virus) or just Kaspersky Anti-Virus. So, if you have any Kaspersky product and you have problems connecting with hotComm, follow the steps for Kaspersky Internet Security below.

Kaspersky Internet Security

If configured correctly, Kaspersky Internet Security works with hotComm.

Note: if you have previously installed Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall, hotComm may be unable to connect to relay servers until you completely remove the remnants of the Norton software that are left behind by their uninstall, even if you have configured Kaspersky correctly. The symptoms of this is that your hotComm connection status is "Online-Proxied" or "Online-Direct", but the room is deemed unconnectible.
