IntroductionWelcome to the Files2Phones Guide for Help and Reference information. Files2Phones provides comprehensive remote control of your desktop through the Safari web browser on your iPhone or iPod touch. All you need is a desktop, an iPhone or iPod touch, and the Files2Phones Access Server from 1stWorks. Overview You install the Files2Phones Access Server software on your computer, and leave it running. You drag files, applications, webcams, and other resources onto Public, Private or Guest folders in the Files2Phones Access Server. Then, you (or others) can connect to your Files2Phones Access Server through the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPod touch, and view or control those resources remotely.The resources you drag onto the Public folder can be viewed by anyone without a password. The resources you drag onto the Private or Guest folders can be viewed, or launched and run remotely. These folders can be (and should be) password protected. Resources can include: files, folders, applications, webcams, your entire desktop, and a special uploaded photos folder. Browser access is made to a unique web address that is assigned to your Files2Phones Access Server at the time you install and register the software. The address is http://your-web-prefix.myF2P.com, where "your-web-prefix" is unique to you. For more information, see the topics under Getting Started, Installation, On your PC, and On your Phone. Availability Files2Phones Access Server is available for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista 32-bit. There is no native Macintosh version, although we understand that users can run it on an Intel-based Macintosh under Bootcamp or Parallels.
Security Data is encrypted for transmission. Files2Phones Access Server only allows access to the files made available through the F2P folders. Registration and License The Files2Phones Access Server is a registered, licensed product. After an initial free trial period, you purchase a license to continue using it.
