F2P Help for iPhone and iPod touch
F2P Help for iPhone and iPod touch
To access the PC through F2P, use Safari to go to the specific F2P Access Server address (such as http://try.myf2p.com). We recommend that you bookmark the F2P addresses, and the browser history will help you.
Then, click one of the main page buttons:
Public - opens the Public Folder, which may contain files, folders and perhaps a photo album available to anyone without a password. See Files and View Options.
Private - opens the Private Folder, which may contain files, folders, monitor snapshots, webcam snapshots, and a photo album. The Private folder is password protected and intended for the Files2Phones Access Server owner.
Guest - opens a specific Guest Folder, based on the username and password you enter. Guest folders can contain files, folders, monitor snapshots, webcam snapshots and a photo album as the Private folder does.
Settings - change your F2P settings, and see the email address for sending photos to the F2P album on the PC. The lower right corner has the revision number of the Files2Phones Access Server that you're connecting to.
Logout - erases the F2P password cookies, so they must be re-entered before entering the secure areas.

Files
In the Public, Private and Guest folders, you can display files, see information about files and email access links to other people.

Click a blue filename to download and display the file. (A black filename means the file type can not be displayed on the iPhone or iPod touch.) |

Click the info+email icon to see information about the file and optionally email a link to it to someone (see Email Links to Others). |
From the Private and Guest folders, you also can launch the application on the desktop and control it from your iPhone or iPod touch:

Click any active icon to launch the application on the remote PC and control it from your iPhone or iPod touch.
When you're done, click Close App to close it on the PC (the last image remains visible). Use the arrow keys to navigate between pages of the application. |

View Options
The Public, Private and Guest folders can view:

Click the Uploaded Photos link to see photos in the special F2P Photo folder. |
From the Private and Guest folders, you also can:
 |
Click a Monitor to see a snapshot of any of the desktop on the selected monitor. Click the link again to update the snapshot. |

Click a webcam link to see a snapshot from the webcam. Click the link again to update the snapshot. |

Email Links to Others
In many cases, you can use email to send a link to the file to someone else. The link you send includes an encrypted security key so that the person can access the file without a password. To send the link:

1. | Click the info+email button. |
| 2. | When you see the information listing, click the Email This File button to launch the email. |

| 3. | Fill in the To: and Subject: in the email and click Send.
The text area is pre-filled with the filename and link (with security key). You can add text, but do not make any changes to the link and security key; they must remain one continuous string. The email is sent from the email account listed in your Settings. |
The recipient receives the email and clicks the link. The file is downloaded. It may open automatically, or the recipient may be prompted to save it, depending on the capabilities and configuration of the computer, iPhone, iPod touch, or other device they're using.

Send Photos to the F2P Access Server
You can use the iPhone Photos feature to send photos to the Files2Phones Access Server.
| 1. | Click the F2P Settings button to see the F2P email address to use. |
| 2. | Then, from the main iPhone applications, select Photos, find the photo, click the send email button and type in the F2P email address. Note that the subject line of the email contains the name of the photo (but you can change it). |

Navigate
The Public, Private and Guest folder headings include navigation buttons:

a Home button (top right) to take you back to the main F2P page |

a History button (top left) to list what you have seen. |

F2P Settings
F2P Settings has options and information.
- Address for F2P photos upload. See Send Photos.
- F2P iPhone Help link.
- Directory Sort Order. Select the sequence in which you want the contents of a folder sorted. The options are:
Option Description Alpha+ Alphanumeric order. Date+ Date sequence, oldest first. Date- Date sequence, most recent first. - Image View. Select the way you want to see the images. The options are:
Option Description Thumbnail Display an icon for the file, folder or resource. Name Only Display just the name - Application Control Technique. Select the way you want to control the mouse when remotely controlling applications or your desktop. The options:
Option Description Overlay Tap on the screen to pop-up a toolbar from which to select the keyboard and mouse actions. This is the default selection. See Overlay. Nudges & Buttons Use the Nudge & Button technique to control the mouse actions. See Nudges & Buttons. - Files2Phones Access Server revision number. In the lower right-corner, you can find the revision number of the Files2Phones Access Server you are connected to.

Application Control with Files2Phones - rev 3.2

OverviewYou can run virtually any application from the Private Menu. In the F2P Server on your PC, drag the application start-up icon (or alternate) onto the F2P Private folder (see Making the Application Available below).
On the F2P Server on your PC, you need to make the application available in a way that makes it possible to launch the application from the iPhone the same way you do from your PC, so that it starts with the same settings and supporting files. To do that, on your PC, drag whatever you use to start the application onto the F2P Private folder.

Top - Application Control Control from your iPhoneOn the iPhone, go to the myf2p.com address and click the Private button. Then click the application icon in the left column of the folder listing (not the application name).

Invoking the Keyboard
You can bring up the keyboard at any time by a single click 1/16 of an inch above the bottom "browser back & favorites bar" at the very center of the iPhone button and the keyboard will appear. A red 2-line text area just above the keyboard is where your typing & editing are performed. You should position the viewable area of the screen over the area that requires text entry (many times the field is auto-selected by the application and you will not need to re-select it.) Otherwise, Single-Click the screen at a position on the line you wish to edit. When you invoke the keyboard the red area will contain all the text from the pointer/cursor position to the end-of-line.
