Folders

The My iPhone F2P Folders panel on your PC holds the folders and files that you are making available. The top level folders are:

Folder Description
Public Files and folders available to anyone without a password.
Private Files and folders intended for your own remote access. You can set a username and password for this folder.
Guest This folder is intended to contain password-protected folders for different people, so you can set up a folder for your square-dance group, another for your family, etc.

You cannot add, rename or delete the top level folders.

For more information, see Public, Private, Guest.

Public folder

The Public folder holds files that anyone can access. Because of this, be careful to only make available files that you don't mind publishing to the world.

You can choose not to make any files available to the Public folder.

Private folder

The Private folder is intended for your use. There is only one Private folder, and it is password protected. In addition to the files and folders you drag into the Private folder, the phone display includes WEBcam (if running) and a display of your desktop.

The Monitor includes all monitors, if you have a multiple monitor setup.

For more information on WEB camera, see WEB camera.

Guest folder

The Guest folder is intended to hold password protected folders for special viewers. For example, you can create a new folder within the Guest folder and drag files into it for your sales team to view. Because it is protected by a username and password, only they can see the folder or its contents.

Folder Security

When a file or folder is dragged into an F2P Folder, the actual file is not changed or moved. Instead, a link or pointer to the file is created. If you delete the file or folder from My iPhone F2P Folders, nothing happens to the original file or folder.

However, it is possible to place a file or folder in an F2P Folder externally, using Windows Explorer or another external program. In this case, if you delete the file or folder through Files2Phones Access Server, the actual file or folder is deleted.

Network Folders

If the My Computer panel shows files and folders that are stored on other computers or network drives, you may be able to make them available through the My iPhone F2P Folders panel. Feel free to try it -- we don't guarantee that it will work, but it might.

File Types

Files2Phones can display any file type that is native to your iPhone.
