First time registration
To register Files2Phones for the first time:
-
In the Welcome screen, select I am a new user and click Next.
-
In the Network Registration screen, fill out the information and click Next. You will be asked for:
| Field |
Description |
| First / Last name |
Type your first name in the first field, and your last name in the second field. |
| iPhone Cell Number |
Type your iPhone cell number. We will be sending a text message to this number.
Note: this must be a real iPhone number. Other phone numbers will not work. |
| Email Address: |
Type a valid email address. We will be sending an email containing your myname.myf2p.com address and an activation key.
This email address becomes the key for your registration and cannot be changed.
|
| Home Zip Code: |
Type the zip code of the location where this computer is based. |
| Desired Web Prefix: |
Type the first part of the website address that you and others will use to access your files.
We automatically add the .myf2p.com portions. For example, if you want the address to be william.myf2p.com, type: william.
The prefix must be at least 4 characters, including numbers and English-alphabet characters. Do not include special characters or punctuation, except that you can include single dash "-" characters. A dash cannot be the first character.
Regarding dashes: "abc-123-xyz" is acceptable (one dash character at a time). "abc--123" is not (two dash characters in a row). "-abc123" is not (leading dash character).
Note: the web addresses must be unique, so if someone else already used "william", you need to choose a different web prefix.
