Version 4.40.009 fixes a problem when connecting from an iPhone via Safari or an F2P shortcut that gave you a gray screen instead of your desktop when you selected monitor Control. You now get desktop control.
This problem did not occur when connecting via Safari from another desktop, or when connecting from the PC2Me+ or PC2Me-Local Apps.
Revision 4.40.008 replaces all references to F2P.com with myF2P.com in the PC2Me and Files2Phones products. This primarily affects the Safari browser access, which is included in the Server update. A minor update to the PC2Me Apps will be available from Apple iTunes shortly.
Revision 4.40.007 includes a fix for Files2Phones, so that no resources are automatically included in the Public folder. The only resources available to the Public are the ones you drag into the Public folder. There were no changes specifically for PC2Me.
Revision 4.40.006 includes a fix for the PC2Me Server Identity Setup problem where the "Check Availabity" button did not change to "Register" when an available email/identity combination was found during a PC2Me Local upgrade to PC2Me+.

- A fix for accessing through a Windows network Domain level group configuration. Note: the Initialize Security feature was implemented for a Windows network Workgroup level group configuration.
- Modified main browser pages for corrected JavaScript verification. This solves the problem of getting a black page loading when you connect through Safari.
Revision 4.32.008 prevents the Safari desktop browser from wrongly displaying a Javascript error prior to the username-password Secure Login challenge when the F2P or PC2Me Server is running on a slow Online-Proxied connection.

- Registration Utility for F2P and PC2Me now identify the First and Last names on different lines.
- The Ask Support a Question report now includes information about Monitors (number and dimensions. Primary and virtual displays are identified.) and Webcams (number, names, Files2Phones modified names. Primary webcam is identified.).
Revision 4.32.004 fixed a multiple-monitor problem with configurations where the PRIMARY monitor was not first in the list of monitors, causing the wrong monitor information to be accessed. The error message received was "Desktop access blocked by the host error code 1" message in the PC2Me Plus native app after logging in to the PC2Me Server.
A message now appears for 15-seconds on PC2Me/F2P Server startup saying that opening a port will increase remote audio quality and desktop performanc by eliminating our proxy server. See http://pc2me.net/FAQ/OpenPorts.asp
Revisions 4.32.001-4.32.003 address the "Desktop access blocked by the host error code 1" message in the PC2Me Plus native app after logging in to the PC2Me Server. These apply to people with Multiple Monitors.

Note: the Apple iPad was released this weekend. Your PC2Me Plus native app should work on it, although for now, you'll see the screen in the small iPhone 320x418 mode instead of the larger iPad screen size (watch for an upcoming revision that supports full size). If you already have PC2Me Plus on your iPhone, you should get it transferred to your iPad when you synchronize. The identity will be the same.
If you connect to the iPad through Safari via http://your-identity.pc2me.net, you should get the full iPad size. The Safari iPhone and PC/Desktop remote control connections have a 14-day free trial, then require licenses. See PC2Me Options.
Revision 3.30.030 includes:
- RDP and PC2Me/Files2Phones. As in previous releases, you can run RDP and the PC2Me or F2P Server at the same time. In Vista and Windows 7, the PC2Me or F2P Server continues running after you close RDP. With this release, the PC2Me and F2P Server also continues running in XP when you close RDP. Previously, in XP, you would lose the desktop when you closed RDP.
- The Registration Dialog includes a new message describing the unlock code.
- Also, all server-side messages regarding expiration of the Safari remote trials are eliminated (you see the trial expiration message when you try to connect from a Safari remote). You only see server-side expiration messages for features you purchase.
Note: revision 3.30.029 was not generally released.
Revision 3.30.028 fixes a problem where the installer does not respond to the Finish or Exit buttons on the last installation screen correctly.
The 3.30.027 revision of PC2Me allows you to block connections from other computers even if you have a valid PC/Desktop Safari browser license. This matches the existing behavior in Files2Phones. The default behavior in both products is that if you have a valid Files2Phones license or PC2Me PC/Desktop Safari license, connections from other computers via Safari are allowed.
Use the /px command line option to block connections from other computers. This option can be used with either product.
Note: the older /pa command line option allows connections from other computers via Safari, provided you have a valid license.
Of course, you cannot connect from another computer unless you have the correct PC2Me username and password.
PC2Me revision 3.30.026 hides the Safari remote client trial expiration and warning messages from PC2Me Plus native app users.
- When the Safari remote client trial expires, you see a message in the Safari browser on access. You do not get notices saying the trial will expire, as there is no way for you to continue the connection after receiving the message.
- You see notices and expiration messages on the PC2Me Server when it starts only if the PC2Me Server has never been accessed through a PC2Me Plus native app.
The latest version of F2P and PC2Me 3.30.025 corrects a problem with XP systems with automatic log in to a secure system when entering the desktop access. It was caused by readjustment of the compiler options between version .023 and .024.
Here is a list of the changes made from .023 to .024 of F2P/PC2Me:

- Color coding the registration dialog expiration dates:
o BLACK = purchased and available
o BLUE = demo and available
o GRAY = inherited from deluxe version and available
o RED = expired

Notice: PC2Me Server 3.30.023 is the minimum revision needed to coordinate with the PC2Me Plus native app version 1.6.0 released 11/18/09.
Revision 3.30.023 includes:
- Additional enhancements to the FileView file management feature available in the latest version of the PC2Me Plus Native App (1.6.0). FileView includes thumbnails and icons.

NOTE: If you have installed any of the beta versions (3.30.016-3.30.021) please clear the PC2Me image cache when you use the upgrade for the first time:
- In PC2Me Plus on the iPhone, press the Folder icon in the bottom left above the “Desk” button, press the “View” button at the bottom and press the “Clear Icon Cache” button. This will clear out any data from earlier testing versions on the iPhone.
- In the PC2Me Server, right-click the tiny PC2Me icon, select Preferences, and click "Clear Cache" to clear any local cache files that were created.
If you installed 3.30.022, please update to a later revision now from http://pc2me.net/downloads.asp. 3.30.022 is out of sync with the PC2Me Plus 1.6.0 native app revision posted 11/18/09. When you connect from the native app, you get a message saying "Cannot enter site. Please verify that iPhone and PC software is up to date and restart both programs."
Revision 3.30.014 includes:
- Re-enabled the “Registration & Unlock” menu option even if not logged in (In case Proxy option expires in PC2Me).
- If Skype is purchased in PC2Me and FileView was not, they are given a 1 month demo of FileView since the Skype option is within the File View Folder List. This is a temporary solution until the permanent fix is in place.
- Enhancement to the security problem on 64-bit Vista systems.
- Needing both iPhone AND PC Safari browser options enabled are no longer necessary to get access to PC2Me from one of them.
Revision 3.30.012 is available for PC2Me only. It includes additional graphics and the 3.30.011 changes.
Revision 3.30.011 includes:
- Fixed - Security under Vista on 64-bit systems prevented desktop from being accessible. The desktop is now accessible.

- Reduced the data sent to our server to process email messages from the clients (aka. “Ask Support A Question” and Connection Log data).

The 3.22.038 revisions of PC2Me and Files2Phones include:
This version fixes the keyboard problem found in PC2Me from a PC Safari browser.
The 3.22.033 revisions of PC2Me and Files2Phones include:
This version fixes an audio issue. The issue involved his audio driver being designed like one written for Vista, where a single driver contained multiple device entries (i.e. “Speakers(Device Name)”, “Stereo Mix(Device Name)”, etc.).
The 3.22.033 revisions of PC2Me and Files2Phones include the fix to allow certain audio drivers that do not conform to the standard design that we have seen. Currently we have noticed this design on XP systems with the RealTek HD Audio input/output devices. The same change has been available on the hotComm releases since 7.50.026 with good results.
The 3.22.030 revisions of PC2Me and Files2Phones include:
- Revised audio test warnings; sample rate, speaker config and audio device now all have better wording and checkboxes to not display these warnings
- Speaker Sample Rate <= 48000 (VISTA ONLY)
- Speaker Configuration is STEREO or MONO (VISTA ONLY)
- In the case of the audio device, we concluded that in order to capture audio using the recording device it must be the same as the current playback device (since most applications send their audio to the current playback device). The audio device test checks whether this is true and displays a message if they don’t match or a “stereo mix” device could not be found. This occurs on all XP machines or Vista systems that cannot capture the speakers output (based on sample rate or speaker config tests).
Note: the Recording and Playback devices must be the same.
-
F2P allowing files with the XLSX and DOCX extensions to be downloadable
-
A fix to a crash in F2P with files which have dates beyond the year 2038 (limit of time functionality used by IMC.DLL)
The 3.22.029 revisions of PC2Me and Files2Phones include:
The new versions now check for expiration when accessed through the native app, causing a “bad request” message to appear on the iPhone as well as the expiration dialog on the desktop.
The 3.22.028 revisions of the PC2Me and Files2Phones Servers include:
- Audio checks (XP): When testing an XP computer for a recording device, if the current tests fail, we will search for an available ANALOG device.
Looking at the current mixer logs that have been sent, most of the mixer devices that we couldn’t detect were ANALOG devices.
This gives us a fallback when our current tests reveal no device that we know is capable of recording mixer input. This will allow further international devices to work since it is a control type instead of the name of a specific device.
- The Registration Utility, if an unused email address is entered, but an identity is entered that is already used, then the utility will search for an available identity by adding the next increment until one is found. This identity is suggested to the user.
i.e. Entering “jones” as an identity, if it is already used, the number “1” will be added and checked, incrementing until one is found that is not already used (jones1, jones2, … ).
- The User Info sent with the Ask Support A Question form now includes “Last IPN Access” and either the word “never” or a date telling the last time the Native Application accessed this server. This will let us know whether the server is being used for Native App access or using the Safari browser.
This is more for our benefit. If a customer reports that they don't have audio, but the “Last IPN Access” signifies “never”, then they are using a web browser client as their client, not the Native App. Since the web browser client has no audio, then we can respond to them accordingly.
The 3.22.020 revisions of PC2Me and Files2Phones include:
- This fixes the problem in the “Ask Support a Question” dialog where the enter key would behave like the SEND button.
- A new entry in the Program Group, “Initialize Security” was added to execute the F2PSEC.EXE command with “/f” on the command line.
Version 3.22.016 includes:
- Introducing support for the PC2ME Plus with Audio Native iPhone Application. The native app works with PC2Me Server or Files2Phones Server.

Version 3.20.201 includes:
- Full remote PC control from Mac or PC using the Safari Browser via the F2P Product (Not PC2Me). This is MUCH faster and more natural than any RDP, Go2MyPC or VNC type product.
- We added back the blue target rectangle on the double-tap zoom to full screen without animation as it aggrivates an Apple instability. We will bring back the animation when Apple fixes their end.
Version 3.20.200 includes:
- Update to conform with Apple 2.02 firmware that is MUCH more stable in terms of browser crashes. We strongly suggest that you install the upgrade if you haven't already.
- We removed the blue target rectangle on the double-tap zoom to full screen as this animation aggrivates an Apple instability. We will bring it back when Apple fixes their end.

- Multi-Touch interface now uses Tranforms, Animations and the new CSS to do a hardware zoom on double-tap away from the pointer to zoom to the entire desktop.
- Full International keyboard support.
- Fixed IBM (Lotus) Notes problem when launching as a separate Application.
- MUCH FASTER!! by saving the Javascript and overlay bitmaps in the iPhone's local database. It is only loaded once when you first connect to your PC2Me site.
Version 3.20.001 includes:
- Remote update for server software. You can update your PC2Me server software from the iPhone.
- A canvas fix for screens over 1-megapixel.
- A very occasional browser lockup has been reported to Apple for correction in the 2.1 firmware.
Version 3.20.000 includes:
- Major UI changes and improvements based on newly exposed mult-touch mouse events in the 2.0 Apple firmware. Most notably a change where the hexagon is now gone. It is VERY important to take a moment to study the new Overlays that follow. We hope that you will find this technique much more intuative after using it for a few minutes. Note also that Invisible buttons and nudges in previous release have been eliminated.
Version 3.00.015 includes:
- More Compatibility changes for Rev. 2.0 Firmware. We now correctly feed keys into Rdp and Terminal Services and have fixed the problem introducted in the .012 cut. The 2.0 firmware 2 mega-pixel limit on canvas size is now expanded at all resolutions. A Login problem in XP causing a request on the Server for Username and Password is fixed.
Version 3.00.008 includes:
- Compatibility changes for Rev. 2.0 Firmware. Apple made several changes in 2.0 that caused trouble. Most notable were the Keyboard key values. We are still fighting their new 2 mega-pixel limit on canvas size limiting usable screen resloutions to 1600x1200 for now. We expect a fix by Monday to remove this limit and to allow re-login after an RDP session using Windows XP.
Version 3.00.000 includes:
- Major UI changes improvements. PC2Me Server changes from a Free, No-phone support product to a $29.95/Yr. Full-Support Product with a 14-day Demo period.
- Overlay changes.
Version 2.60.003 includes:
- Minor change to try and avoid new user confusion over what their Username and Password is and how to set it. If a User enters either incorrectly, the task bar icon displays a message on the PC and takes you to the password entry screen if clicked.
Version 2.60.002 includes:
- Major Feature Upgrade! The Overlay is now a 6-button Hexagon. When you tap the screen, a left-click is sent to the application and an 6-button hexagonal overlay is placed on the screen around the tap point and will remain for 3.5 seconds and then fade away. This overlay allows you to select Left-Mouse Down, Fly the Mouse and Right-Click. You can also invoke a revolutionary new Application Selector that gives you a list of current Application Windows on your desktop, Function Keys or direct-entry Keyboard.
| Button |

- In the event that JavaScript is not enabled on the iPhone, A page is displayed telling users how to enable it.
Version 2.50.006 includes:
- Hacked iPhones & touches with 1.1.3 & 1.1.4 apparently had another pitfall that we fell into. This fixes it without the need for people to run the "1.1.4 cookie fix" from the jailbreak installer. This problem again manifests in randomly going back to the F2P or PC2Me Login page while controlling the desktop.
